About
This webinar explores the dynamic transformation occurring in satellite communications, focusing on the emerging trend of Supplemental Coverage from Space (SCS). Dan Pino of Element Materials Technology will guide attendees through the historical context of satellite technology and its progression to the current state of the industry.

The presentation will begin with an overview of traditional satellite communications, including the deployment of satellites in both low Earth and geostationary orbits. Pino will then delve into the paradigm shift from proprietary spectrum usage to the integration of existing 3GPP bands, highlighting the potential for seamless connectivity in areas previously considered "dead zones."

Key topics to be addressed include:
1. The evolution of satellite communications and its impact on mobile connectivity
2. The concept and benefits of Supplemental Coverage from Space (SCS)
3. The transition from proprietary spectrum to leveraging existing 3GPP bands
4. Implications for device compatibility and network expansion
5. Recent FCC regulations governing spectrum usage for terrestrial and satellite stations

This webinar aims to provide valuable insights for professionals in the telecommunications industry, policymakers, and anyone interested in the future of global connectivity. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how satellite communications are poised to revolutionize network coverage and accessibility for wireless devices worldwide.
