In this presentation, Al will reflect and highlight the key considerations when shaping a school or MAT digital strategy in an era of Covid-19 and remote education. He will highlight how remote learning and increased digital communication and collaboration need to be added to the vision and what this might look like. The session will offer practical insights into creating an effective digital strategy to stand your school in good stead in 2021 and beyond.
For the last 26 years, Al has been the Group CEO of NetSupport, an international software company developing market-leading solutions used by over 18 million customers, designed to support the effective use of instructional technology in classrooms alongside eSafety technologies to safeguard students online.
With a passion for education and, in particular, governance and raising organisational performance, Al has undertaken several other roles, outside of his NetSupport duties, including Chair of two Multi-Academy Trusts and an AP Academy, Chair of the area’s Governors’ Leadership Group and the county SEND Board. Al is also on the Regional Schools Commissioner’s Headteacher Board for the East of England and North London, a FED council member and a Committee Member of Peterborough School Improvement Board. Al has also co-authored the ‘Digital Strategy Guide for Schools’ with Mark Anderson.
A 2020 EdTech 50 winner, Al continues to support schools with mentoring, writing and event speaking.
