Due to the COVID-19 era, online meetings and performances have come to the forefront of creative communication. The need to adapt to this will probably remain after this is all over. For example, all drama schools will, I suspect, continue to carry out auditions online following the route of the industry in asking for self-tapes from actors, instead of meetings face-to-face. I have lots of information regarding self-tapes. This change caused much stress and uncertainty for students, who needed advice and tips for auditions.
For performance in general: exams, auditions, shows I have been engaging more with the psychology of performance to instil more confidence, less anxiety, and more enjoyment. This year, we were unable to do our Christmas musical, so instead we made a film consisting of numbers from various shows linked by small scenes and visual links. We then made a documentary of the making of the movie.
There is not handout for this session.
