Joanne will present an innovative project that evidences how the use of clinical nurse specialists can expedite osteoporosis treatments and save unnecessary consultant appointments.

Joanne Fourmy qualified as a registered nurse at Hertfordshire University in 2015. With a background in trauma and orthopaedics, she began working as a metabolic bone clinical nurse specialist in rheumatology in 2016 at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital – now part of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Joanne has helped to co-develop the bone service with Dr Nisar and the Lead Nurse Julie Begum. She had a poster excepted for presentation at EULAR, co-developed and implemented a proforma for bisphosphonate and Denosumab treatments and has been seeing first attendance patients for the last fifteen months.
