Lymphoedema is a chronic condition that is more common than originally thought. It can have considerably more impact ‘than a little bit of oedema’. This presentation will provide a brief overview on risk, impact and treatment options in managing lymphoedema to support Value-Based Healthcare. Assessment modalities and Patient Reported Outcome Measures will be presented along with self-management strategies including access to a wide range of educational free videos for all. Case studies will also be presented highlighting the benefits of collaborative working amongst Primary Care and Lymphoedema Services.
Wound Express in Practice – The Patient's Story
This session will cover Wound Express – using data from patients recruited at Accelerate. This includes a case study on a patient that had a history of venous ulceration and atrophie blanche. This patient healed within 8 weeks and saw a marked reduction in pain as early on as week 2.
