Some 62% of the UK population are overweight, and 25% are obese. In the population of lymphoedema patients, according to a recent study, 37.1% are obese and a further 20.7% are morbidly obese. This is a huge challenge for clinicians and patients alike. Is there a link? Does one cause the other? What new science is emerging around this, and what treatments and help can we expect to be able to offer our patients now and in the future? This presentation will look at the above and hopefully enlighten the audience to consider and challenge current practices.
