Sexuality and intimacy

This session will equip stoma care nurses to:

- Understand the possible physical impacts of gastrointestinal disease and abdominal surgery on sexual health

- Open up conversations on intimate and emotionally challenging topics in a safe, confident and honest manner

- Assist people of all genders and sexualities to overcome practical and psychological barriers presented by a stoma to living a fulfilled romantic and/or sexual life
