Julie joined Clinisupplies as Clinical Lead for Bowel Management, with Aquaflush, in October 2023. She had previously worked for Renew Medical UK for 1 year as a Senior Clinical Advisor, having retired from the NHS after 36 years.

In 1995 she was appointed as the first Biofeedback Nurse in the country at St. Mark’s Hospital in London where she developed the Biofeedback Clinics, protocols, and patient information materials.

She was appointed as Clinical Nurse Specialist in Bowel Management at University College Hospital London in 2006. She set up the Biofeedback/Bowel Retraining Clinics there, followed by the Transanal Irrigation Clinics in 2008. She has offered bowel care advice and support to patients with neurogenic bowel dysfunction, and to patients with other organic conditions affecting their bowel, and to those with functional bowel problems for over 25 years.

Endoscopy Education & Development Lead, Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust
Leigh Donnelly has been involved in endoscopy since 1995, firstly as a staff nurse and then eventually holding several nurse specialist posts, including being a clinical endoscopist for the last 18 years. More recently, Leigh has been involved in training, education and development which is now the majority of her current role. Leigh has always been passionate about training and education and with her enthusiasm for endoscopy, this has given her a very engaging career pathway. Leigh was awarded a PhD in 2024 titled ‘An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis Exploring the Lived Experience of Trainee Endoscopists’ and she is currently Chair of BSG Nurses section and board member of ESGENA.
