Stefano Marinaz

The seeds for Stefano Marinaz's future were planted 70 years ago in northern Italy when his grandfather opened a plant nursery and a shop in Trieste. As a child, Stefano trailed behind his grandfather in the greenhouses, developing a profound love and understanding of plants from an early age.

After earning a degree in Agronomy in Italy, Stefano pursued an MA in Landscape Architecture at the University of Greenwich in London.

In 2012, Stefano Marinaz realised his dream by founding Stefano Marinaz Landscape Architecture. Over the past decade, the studio has expanded to include offices in both London, UK, and Utrecht, NL, earning a reputation for its expertise in naturalistic planting and innovative design.

Stephanie Mahon is the Editor of Gardens Illustrated and a writer on garden and landscape design. Twice winner of the Garden Media Guild Journalist of the Year Award, she has also written a book called Wild Gardens, published by HarperCollins.
