Deep Dive into...South West Investment Fund - area 2

Our first Deep Dive events of 2024 will look at one of the most exciting developments in regional funding for businesses – the £200m South West Investment Fund (or SWIF as it has become known). We will be joined for this event by representatives of British Buisness Bank and the SWIF Fund Managers; we will look to discuss with them the ins and outs of the SWIF including the who and how of making an approach to the fund. As the fund administration is split between two geographies, we are hosting two events on successive days to give business owners the opportunity to hear from the fund manager active in their area.
SWIF is a potential source of debt and equity funding for businesses based in or looking to be based in the South West of England. Demand for SWIF funding has exceeded expectations with over £2m of investments being made in first few months post launch last year.
Aaron comes from a family business background himself and enjoys dealing with all areas affecting both owner managed and family businesses.
He leads a team working with businesses, professionals and business support groups - covering Bristol, Gloucestershire, North and North East Somerset and Wiltshire.
He is ACIB qualified, and has been in the banking industry for nearly 40 years working exclusively across the South West region. Having worked in leadership, analytical and relationship roles, he has supported businesses from start up to PLC across all sectors.
Luke joined Maven from Connection Capital, where as an Investment Director he completed a range of growth capital and buyout transactions. He started his career at KPMG and then performed in-house M&A at UBM plc, executing a program of international acquisitions and disposals, before moving into private equity with Nova Capital.
He read Economics and Management at the University of Oxford and is a qualified Corporate Treasurer.
I also bring several years of hands-on experience in fund operations. This experience has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the inner workings of investment funds, enabling me to make informed decisions
