Steve Bromley

Steve Bromley has been working with the games industry for over a decade, and led research studies for many of PlayStation's top European games including Horizon: Zero Dawn, SingStar and the PlayStation VR launch lineup. He continues to work with games studios to improve the player experience of their games.
Steve started and ran the games user research mentoring scheme for five years, which partnered over one hundred students with more than fifty industry professionals from top companies such as Sony, EA, Valve, Ubisoft, and Microsoft, and helped many people get their first job in games.
This year he released a book on how to start a career in games user research, called 'How To Be A Games User Researcher'. The book covers many of the topics that mentees have asked as they start their games user research career.
Ugo Bui-Xuan

Ugo Bui-Xuan is currently the Director of Research at PlaytestCloud, boasting over a decade of experience. His academic journey in Neuroscience has provided a solid foundation for his impressive career in the gaming industry. Ugo began his professional path at Ubisoft Paris, specializing in biometrics for game user research, a role that significantly shaped his approach to understanding player behavior and interaction.
In 2018, Ugo assumed the position of Worldwide User Research Manager at Gameloft in Paris. This role involved overseeing user research and playtesting across all studios within the organization. He excelled in advocating for user experience and research, developing innovative research methodologies, managing departmental budgets, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of research. His efforts were instrumental in refining usability and enhancing player experiences across a range of games.
Since October 2023, Ugo has been applying his extensive expertise at PlaytestCloud – The Player Insights Platform. A company that Ugo worked extensively with during his time at Gameloft. Ugo's Understanding of Human Computer Interaction, combined with his comprehensive approach to qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, continues to be pivotal in helping us advance the field of game user research through webinars and other speaking engagements on behalf of PlaytestCloud.
