Keynote: Dr Jenny Lloyd

Dr Jenny Lloyd will introduce research exploring the enablers and barriers to addressing harmful sexual behaviour in schools, conducted as part of the Contextual Safeguarding programme. Drawing upon the experiences of students and young people, she will consider the structural and cultural barriers to addressing sexual harm including implications of ‘zero tolerance’ approaches, barriers to identification and disclosure and responses by social care. In this talk, she will outline how the PSHE education curriculum needs to be integrated into a wider school and child protection context that creates safer schools.
