Initiative partner: Ginlong Solis
Battery storage is much talked about in the solar industry. But when is a battery an economically sensible addition to a solar rooftop? That depends on the market, its subsidies and policy drivers, and of course, on price developments for storage. The good thing is that today customers in the residential segment don’t have to make that decision right from the start, but instead choose to install an inverter which allows retrofitting storage at marginal cost and effort.
Together with this webinar’s initiative partner Solis, we will discuss residential storage opportunities across various European markets. There will be insights and lessons learned from mature residential solar markets such as the UK, but we will also look ahead and see what some newer markets such as Belgium, Poland, and Sweden hold in terms of residential storage deployment opportunities.
Joining this webinar from Solis, Paul Carpenter, Technical Manager – Europe, will share insights on the inverter manufacturers fifth-generation hybrid inverter series, which has recently seen the addition of a three-phase model. Paul will also provide useful examples and guidance concerning choosing the right battery type for single-phase and three-phase systems. Also joining us from Solis is Claire Gardner, who aided the launch of Solis Inverters in the UK whilst working for one of Europe’s largest solar PV distributors.
Alvaro Garcia, Commercial Director, will join us from EFT Systems/BYD to share his insights on various European residential storage markets. He will discuss how and when in markets such as Sweden, Belgium, and Poland, storage and solar are most appealing through optimization of self-consumption, or becoming less reliant on the grid.
Adding to the debate, Paul and Alvaro will shed some light on the long-lasting cooperation on inverter and battery compatibility between BYD and Solis. They will explain to us why not every inverter is endlessly compatible with every battery on the market and why installers need to be mindful of a list of compatible brands to make the best and most future proof value proposition to their customers.
