About
Battery storage for clean energy is one of the hottest topics in the energy industry, ranging from their use in grid-scale storage to C&I to residential, along with the automotive industry shifting entirely towards e-mobility. But batteries can be volatile in ways that the energy industry is still attempting to understand: in some cases, lithium-ion batteries may have shorter expected lifetimes than other energy system elements like solar modules, and safety is incredibly critical for battery fleets.

With well over 5GW of stationary storage installed in the US in 2022, and with new tax credits via the Inflation Reduction Act, the opportunity space for batteries is growing exponentially. At the same time, the seamless management of gigawatts of lithium-ion storage is not yet a solved problem among the many companies building portfolios of battery fleets. Value from these important assets depends on operational performance, and managing risk is at the core for all operators and owners. Yet, the industry is in the early days of operation and maintenance of batteries. As experience is hard-won and battery management systems provide limited support towards improved performance and prevention of issues, newer technologies are also supporting the industry’s growth.

In this pv magazine Webinar, we’ll learn about innovative analytics tools and services that simplify ownership, prioritize safety, drive competitive differentiation, and maximize profitability. Joining us for discussions will be Ted James, head of North America at Accure Battery Intelligence who will reveal how advanced battery analytics can offer operators improved safety and performance, accurate lifetime analysis, and data-driven insights. Mark Mirek, senior managing director at Brown & Brown Risk Solutions will provide insights from the insurance side of the equation when considering protections for clean energy investments. Ray Szylko, chief strategy officer and co-founder of Omnidian, will also join the discussions.

pv magazine Webinar content:

● Insights into the battery landscape and how value of these assets depends on operational performance
● Turning field data into intelligence: how data collection, analytics, associated services can be leveraged for higher-level understanding of battery performance across a fleet and portfolio, and lower risk
● Key learnings from the solar power industry that can apply to battery storage
● How leading insurers and risk-managers support the growth of assets such as batteries
● Q&A

Questions can be submitted beforehand or during the webinar through a chat window. Tristan Rayner, editor at pv magazine, will moderate this webinar.
