Modules have been steeply growing in both power output and size. Many have now significantly exceeded the previous standard dimensions. With a range of available sizes wider than ever before, the PV industry cannot afford a one-size-fits-all approach. For mounting systems manufacturers, the demand is high for systems that flexibly adapt to different modules’ dimensions whilst minimizing the risk of cell damage.

With the launch of its new roof mounting system, the IBC AeroFix G3, IBC Solar is promising to meet this demand. In this pv magazine Spotlight, Johannes Cayé, Product Manager for the IBC AeroFix G3, will walk us through the development of the mounting system and the features which make it adaptable to modules with lengths from 1500 to 2100 mm and widths from 980 to 1150 mm.

By offering the possibility to combine wide and narrow base rails, the system offers a wide range of mounting options without driving costs up. Installers can also benefit from the wide floor rails with pre-mounted construction protection mats and integrated cable ducts, potentially saving time, costs, and effort.

As for achieving this high level of adaptability risk-free, the AeroFix mounting support has an integrated tilt joint which allows the modules to lie mechanically tension-free on the mounting system. This reduces the risk of cell damage and consequent performance loss.
