Initiative partner: Standard Solar
Community solar is the fastest-growing segment of the US solar market today, allowing members of a community the opportunity to share the benefits of solar power without installing solar panels on their property. The increase of community projects is largely due to a growing number of states introducing community solar-specific policies and Virtual Net Metering – VNM, making community solar an attractive, financially viable, clean power source.
As community solar is a relatively new concept, it is critical to understand what makes a successful community solar project and how to obtain smart financing for long-term success. According to our webinar partner Standard Solar, the foundation for good community solar projects are good partnerships. Join our webinar and learn step-by-step how great projects happen.
This webinar will feature three industry experts discussing community solar and why it ‘takes a village’ to execute successful projects. From the initial vision to project siting to financing to subscribers, learn how great projects happen.
Standard Solar’s President and CEO, Scott Wiater, has negotiated partnerships from beginning to end and will discuss how partnerships come together and why they are critical to successful community solar projects. He will also share financing strategies and how that can make or break a community solar project. Joining Wiater will be Mark Richardson of U.S. Light Energy, who will discuss the process of site selection from beginning to end and present the criteria that make a site ideal for community solar projects. Sharing insights for engaging subscribers from consumer compliance to closing corporate partnerships, Richard Keiser, the CEO of Common Energy, also joins the webinar. Common Energy has two goals: to ensure project developers realize their investment returns and to increase the accessibility of clean energy.
Join our speakers, along with our moderator Christian Roselund, US Editor, and learn the community solar project process, from the initial vision to project siting to financing to subscribers.
