Initiative partner: JinkoSolar
With larger sizes now a firm trend among silicon wafer manufacturers, PV modules are also getting bigger. For module manufacturers this means higher power ratings, which can translate to lower levelized cost of electricity and higher rates of return further downstream. As this change in technology ripples through the supply chain, there will surely be optimizations needed elsewhere in system and component design to fully take advantage of the module’s potential.
During this pv magazine Webinar, developed in partnership with JinkoSolar, we will take a closer look at some of the innovations helping to push module output beyond 500 W, particularly the tiling ribbon technology present in JinkoSolar’s latest Tiger PRO module series. And we will have further input from leading inverter and tracker suppliers, discussing what the advent of large format, high powered modules like the Tiger PRO mean for other key components in the PV system.
Mohammed Saady Dweik, Technical Services Manager Middle East and Africa at JinkoSolar will outline the company’s move into high powered modules, and take a detailed look at the tiling ribbon technology that is key to the Tiger modules impressive statistics – a power rating up to 580 W and 21.6% module efficiency.
Hemanshu Sugandhi, director of business development, emerging markets at Nextracker, will offer his insights into designing trackers compatible with this new generation of larger PV modules, and the potential for savings in component costs that can arise from this.
And we will also hear from Rizwan Razaq, channel CTO for Middle East and Africa at Huawei. Rizwan will shed some light on how the inverter industry is responding to module shift to 500 W+ modules, and what is needed from the ‘brains’ of the PV system to get the most out of these.
Webinar content:
• Introduction to JinkoSolar’s tiling ribbon technology
• Highlighting other features of the Tiger PRO module series
• Understanding how larger module formats impact tracker design leading to lower LCOE
vWhat 500 W modules mean for the inverter, and the development of smart PV solutions to further improve on LCOE.
