This event looks at Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) from a social science perspective. Taking the work of Alice Stuart, PhD researcher at the University of East Anglia, whose research is being undertaken in association with Anglian Water to help understand the social impacts and perceptions of the principles and practices behind BNG.

Chris Gerrard, Catchment and Biodiversity Manager at Anglian Water, will elaborate on why this research is essential to support their work in the context of BNG. Alongside this, Jake Lambert, Principal Planner at Bidwells, will provide an overview of the principles behind BNG, its intended practices and how it is perceived from a purely planning perspective.
