SAME Environmental COI Webinar: Creation of Sustainable and Affordable Continuous ISCO Reactive Zones

About This Webinar

This webinar will introduce the concepts of continuous subsurface generation of reactive oxygen species, including chemical oxidants. This technology utilizes an electrokinetic system deployed in groundwater to create oxidants with the ability to remediate a wide range of contaminants. While the system energy demand is low (<$10/day), aggressive oxidation conditions are continuously generated without the application of solid or liquid amendments. The low system cost, ability to address high soil/groundwater contaminant mass, and single system deployment provides a sustainable, in situ remedial method.

The webinar focus will be on the science of how the technology works, system operation, how the system is monitored, the specific components of the system, and operational parameters during actual system use. This webinar will also include an application case study that includes background information on the treated site, selection of areas for deployment, design of the treatment system, collection of site data during operation, and review of findings at the conclusion of the two-phase system deployment. The presentation will review the operational cost on a per day as well as annual basis and how this compares to traditional remediation systems. Further discussion themes are:

• Differentiating common In Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) technologies both strengths and shortcomings.
• How does the Provect-EBR® technology address treatment needs.
• Applicability of continuous ISCO reactive chemistry.
• Understanding actual implementation design and results.
