SAME LD COI Webinar: The Path to Leadership: A Panel Discussion

About This Webinar

Ever wonder what high level leaders did early in their careers that helped them get to where they are today?

Wonder no more! Our awesome panelists are here to discuss the winding paths they traveled that not only brought them into national roles at SAME, but also helped them become high level leaders in their careers. We’ve asked them to take us back to their early days and think about when and why they engaged a mentor; what organizations they were a part of and at what levels; when they decided to become the SAME National President or take on their current position in the Society; what would they change, if anything; and, most importantly, what advice they would give their younger selves. Join the Leader Development COI and SAME Past-Presidents Mark Handley, Cindy Lincicome, and Sal Nodjomian as we explore what the path to leadership can look like.

Agenda
  • 1. Understand the Voluntary Nature of High-Level Leadership: During this webinar the attendee will understand how to recognize that assuming a leadership role at high levels is a deliberate choice and not a mandatory step in one’s career.
  • 2. Identify Career Development Considerations: During this webinar the attendee will identify how to enumerate the key factors and decisions in one’s early or mid-career that can significantly influence future leadership opportunities and success.
  • 3. Explore Diverse Leadership Trajectories: During this webinar the attendee will explore acknowledge and evaluate the various routes and strategies that can lead to attaining high-level leadership positions, emphasizing that there is no single path to success.
  • 4. Cultivate Leadership Skills and Mindset: During this webinar, the attendee will learn how to develop the essential skills and mindset that underpin effective leadership, including strategic thinking, communication, and the ability to inspire and motivate others. This objective focuses on the personal growth and self-awareness necessary to lead with confidence and integrity.
