About This Nurses Weekend

We are excited to announce the programme for this year’s Hill’s and MSD Animal Health Vet Nurses Hybrid Weekend event to be held at the Houw Hoek Hotel in Grabouw. Meet The Presenters

    Dr Frans van Heerden
    Frans graduated from Onderstepoort in 2012. After qualifying he worked as a general veterinarian in Kimberley and Nelspruit, during which time he completed an honours degree in small animal surgery. He returned to OP in 2016, subsequently completed a residency in small animal surgery and fulfilled the requirements for a master’s degree in small animal surgery in 2019.

    Sr Alison Devonshire
    I qualified as a RVN in 2001 and work in small animal first opinion and referral practice in Suffolk UK. I completed the RVC graduate diploma in 2012 and am currently studying for a Masters in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia at Edinburgh University. I was nurse manager of a busy veterinary hospital in Suffolk for 20 years and am currently part of a senior RVN team at a ophthalmology and
    orthopaedic referral centre as the lead anaesthesia and cataract nurse. I enjoy all aspects of anaesthesia and analgesia, particularly planning the care for complex cases such as those undergoing life changing procedures like cataract surgery.
