President at K-12 Leadership Matters
Dr. Robert Avossa is the president of K-12 Leadership Matters LLC. Having spent his career dedicated to public school education, Dr. Avossa now provides strategic support and guidance to school district leaders and their teams with on focus on improving outcomes for ALL students.
Before founding K-12 Leadership Matters, Dr. Avossa most recently served as the Superintendent of Schools for Palm Beach County, the 10th largest district in the country with approximately 200,000 students, 21,000 employees, and an annual budget exceeding $2.6 billion.
Prior to joining Palm Beach County Schools in 2015, Dr. Avossa served as the Superintendent of Fulton County Schools in Georgia for 4 years, where he was responsible for 101 schools, 96,000 students, and 14,000 employees.
During his time at both Palm Beach County and Fulton County Schools, each district achieved dramatic academic performance gains, decreased dropout rates, and earned the highest graduation rates in its state.
Dr. Avossa also served five years as an executive leader for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina, and 10 years as a teacher and principal in Florida.
