Elizabeth Waller is the Managing Attorney in the Macon Office of Georgia Legal Services. She graduated summa cum laude from Florida Southern College in 2003. She graduated with a Juris Doctor from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 2007. She worked as an Assistant Public Defender with the Macon Judicial Circuit from 2007 until 2016 and has worked with the Macon Office of GLSP since 2016. She has trained hundreds of domestic violence advocates across the state to file initial TPOs. She has collaborated with the Prosecuting Attorneys' Counsel for their Court School Training and presented on Civil Advocacy for Victims of Crime. As a former Assistant Public Defender in Peach and Crawford counties, she has become an expert on Domestic Violence and Stalking law. Ms. Waller has presented at the Frontline Advocate training with the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence. In collaboration with the Crisis Line and Safehouse she has trained on TPO law. Ms. Waller has developed trainings and trained law enforcement officers in Peach County and across the state. After enactment of the new Dating Violence statute, Ms. Waller was invited to present to the Houston Judicial Circuit Judges. Recognizing that domestic violence is a fundamental cause of homelessness and in collaboration with the Macon Housing Authority and Shannon Mills, Ms. Waller created a training on domestic violence and housing issues. Ms. Waller has developed family law trainings for new lawyers within GLSP and has helped develop new tools to help GLSP serve survivors.
