Helen works as an Architect Scrum Master within Funding and Finance Technology division of Morgan Stanley. She joined the firm in 2016 as part of the ‘return to work‘ programme, leading agile teams in a range of projects, most recently in the re-architecture of the core finance systems. She drives timely delivery and high client engagement in complex, interdependent systems and processes, bridging what can be a gap between end users and developers especially within core infrastructure platforms.
Helen started her career with a PhD in Chemistry and spent two years in Japan researching liquid crystals. However, she found her niche in more client focused and business development roles, working with clients and developers to deliver the business need, most recently at a boutique software house providing a market data/analytics platform to Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Banks. She took four years out of the work place whilst her children were small, and considers herself very fortunate to have come across the Morgan Stanley Return To Work program three and a half years ago.
Within Morgan Stanley she is a strong advocate of flexible part time working based around school hours, and acts as a mentor to other returners, easing the transition back to the work place. Helen is a keen sportswoman, having spent a good amount of time climbing, playing squash and running ultramarathons until injury caught up with her, her two children and a bicycle currently keep her entertained outside of work, in the rolling countryside of Buckinghamshire.
