Sarah Austin is a Senior Attorney in Atlanta Legal Aid Society's DeKalb County office, where she represents clients primarily in family law litigation and coordinates Atlanta Legal Aid's summer internship program. Having begun her work at Atlanta Legal Aid as a law student, Sarah now supervises and mentors students in intern, extern, and volunteer roles. She has a special interest in recruitment and retention of underserved populations in public interest law, and spreading the good news of Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Sarah enjoys untangling complex family law fact patterns, drafting sample pleadings and educational materials for pro se litigants in DeKalb County, and volunteering with her children's schools. Sarah received her BA from Hampshire College, her JD from Emory University School of Law, and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2012. She lives in Decatur, GA with her family.
