Sharla D. Jackson directs the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Resource Program for the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia. In this role, she oversees domestic violence and sexual assault training for prosecutors, law enforcement officers, and victim advocates throughout the state of Georgia, Basic Mandate Training for the Georgia State Patrol, and all prosecution-delivered training funded under the Violence Against Women's Act. She is the founder and chair of the Georgia Anti-Stalking Workgroup. Sharla honed her training skills through decades of prosecution experience and providing training for the Atlanta Police, the National Retail Federation, the Atlanta Hawks, and other organizations. As an expert trainer in domestic violence, trial advocacy, law enforcement response, and victims' rights, she provides training for prosecutors, victims advocates, and law enforcement nationwide. She has increased these opportunities for underserved and rural areas of the state of Georgia through her collaborative Family Violence training program. Sharla is actively engaged with her community as a member of the Board of Directors of End Violence Against Women International, Leadership Atlanta Class of 2019, Chapter President of the Camellia Rose (GA) Chapter of the Links Incorporated, and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Police Athletic League. The City of Atlanta and Fulton County designated June 24, 2010, “Sharla Jackson Day” in recognition of her service to the community. She was honored with the “Shining Light Award” for the innovative program Court School for Victims Advocates by the Partnership Against Domestic Violence.
