Andy Kogerma has worked in the field of child protection for over 3 decades. During that time he (a) served as a full time Trainer for DFCS staff for over 15 years (b) served as a Curriculum Writer for DFCS trainings for over 6 years and (c) currently serves as a DFCS Policy specialist ( 2+ years). In addition he (a) served as the statewide Family Team Meeting Coordinator, developing and delivering FTM trainings statewide (b) helped write the original DFCS DV Protocol and (c) researched and wrote multiple statewide DV/IPV Trainings for DFCS Staff. These DV/IPV trainings were all written in partnership with DV Advocates, and helped DFCS staff learn the most current research and information on DV/IPV, including: the impact of Situational Couples Violence and Coercive Controlling Violence (CCV) on child safety and case planning; how to always partner with DV Advocates, impact of DV/IPV exposure to on children of all ages, and others.
