Courtney is the Senior Strategic Partnership Manager at AVID. She began her career as a high school math teacher and went on to hold other district roles including Alternative School Director, where 70% of her students were designated felons. After fighting for equity school side, she transitioned to the private sector working to increase access to best-in-class STEM and CS education to students from historically marginalized across the globe. Courtney has led the pilot of volunteer programming to support digital teaching skills at AVID. Courtney is the founder of the Sister Circle Collaborative, a network of minority women and allies dedicated to bringing equity to K-12 education to produce a diverse tech pipeline. Currently, she is a Doctoral student at Meharry School of Applied Computational Sciences, where she is majoring in AI.
