Immersion Studio Supervisor, Texas State University
Dr. Khoi Nguyen has given keynote talks across the country on the use of immersive technology in the XR ecosystem for social justice, civil rights, LGBTQ rights and education. Before joining Texas State University, he was at the National AIDS Memorial and was the lead architect developing AR technology. Using his background in computational mathematics, he developed machine learning algorithms to read and memorialized the weathered names inscribed in the memorial. He was also the lead architect in the XR system to virtually distribute the National AIDS Quilt, the largest folk art in the world. Currently he leads the Immersion Studio at Texas State University which deals with everything XR. His current project deals with the memorialization of veterans for the National Cemeteries integrating machine learning, GPS technology, augmented reality and the Metaverse. He dedicates his professional career to honor those who have laid the foundations for his rights.
