Jamie Saye, DNP, CNM, APRN, SANE

Dr. Saye is currently an assistant professor of nursing in the Wellstar School of Nursing, Wellstar College of Health and Human Services, and clinical director of the Safety, Advocacy, Forensics and Empowerment (SAFE) center, at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. She has a passion for women and children’s health, trauma-informed care, underserved and vulnerable populations, forensics, and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Saye obtained her first baccalaureate degree, a BA in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Georgia. She then moved on to Emory University for her BSN Nursing and MSN Nurse Midwifery before DNP at Augusta University, and from Emory University, and
In her clinical practice, Dr. Saye served in primary, gynecologic, and obstetric care to diverse populations as a Certified Nurse-Midwife before becoming a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). She has provided forensic medical exams as a certified SANE-A at the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia since 2014 and previously served as their SANE Coordinator, where she discovered a passion for teaching and training. Dr. Saye stepped down as SANE Coordinator in 2021 to pursue her Doctorate of Nursing Practice and a career in academia.
In her new and exciting role as a professor, Dr. Saye has taught both undergraduate courses, including Professional Nursing Practice, Women’s Health, Mental Health Nursing, Pharmacology, Women and Children, and Holistic Health; and graduate courses, such as Advanced Nursing Practice, Reproductive Health, and Evidenced-Based Practice. In addition to her hectic teaching schedule, she maintains her clinical practice as a SANE and is currently specializing in pediatric-acute and delayed-disclosure patients.
Dr. Saye is also passionate about giving back to her community partnering with the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to assist in state-wide SANE training initiatives; she also recently joined the 2023 Georgia Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force.
