Ann M. Graf
Assistant Professor, Simmons University
I am assistant professor in the LIS program at Simmons University in Boston, MA. I teach information organization and art documentation, and serve as the faculty liaison for Panopticon, the student organization at Simmons for those interested in art and art librarianship. My research investigates how institutions and community “archivists” document art and cultural heritage collections. I have published findings on the organization of graffiti art in online image galleries around the world and have compared terminological usage by the graffiti art community with the Getty Art and Architecture Thesaurus. I am a photographer and collector, and remain deeply fascinated by collections and collectors, and how they organize, describe, manage, and use their holdings, both within and outside formal institutions.
