Ossi Mettälä has experience in the industry for over 10 years. With his naval architectural background, he has been working with ship design and many novel machinery solutions. The focal point has always been R&D and energy efficiency including ship system simulations, onboard audits, training, and consultation. Whether it has been about ship design or operation, Ossi has always been involved in pushing the industry digitalization forward. Currently, Ossi Mettälä is working as a Customer Success Manager for NAPA Shipping Solutions to provide state-of-the-art performance monitoring and voyage optimization solutions even for the industry segments where high-frequency sensor data is not always available.
Michela Schenone

Michela Schenone obtained master degree as Naval Architect and Marine Engineer from the University of Genoa in 2014. Michela then joined RINA as part of the Marine Digital & Innovation team dealing with data analysis, CFD simulations, fleet performance management and the development of other promising software solutions like electronic logbooks. Michela also focused on new Environmental regulations, being RINA’s Scheme Leader for EU MRV Regulation as well as the person in charge for new IMO DCS regulation, for the years 2018-2019. She is currently Marine Digital Solutions Manager, following the developments of added value digital services, coordinating other naval architects as well as software development teams.

Environmental Energy / The Switch Norway, is leading his team in
engineering marine drive solutions, frequency converters and rotating
machinery, which are in use today with the utmost reliability on vessels
throughout the world. Before joining Yaskawa Environmental Energy (formerly Wärtsilä Norway AS Drives division), Halsebakke worked for Aker Kværner Elektro AS in Norway to develop frequency drives and perform sea trials and commissioning. Halsebakke graduated from Narvik University College with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He also attended the University of Bergen, where he studied elementary physics and mathematics.

Prior to Ardmore, Suraj has been with Thome Ship Management overseeing product and chemical tankers where he served as a Technical Superintendent and later Fleet manager. Suraj came ashore in 2010 and since then he has been closely involved with Technical supervision of the Ardmore ships under Thome ship management. He brings to us a strong experience in fleet management, dry docking, personnel management and has run internal projects for Thome's accounting and purchase functions. Suraj has spent 12 years at sea rising to the rank of Chief Engineer .His time served on board includes bulk carriers, tankers, general cargo, container and DP Offshore vessels

From 1998 until 2000 he was in charge for SIMATIC (Siemens PLC System) as an IT-Expert and Technician, setting to work & service switchboards and power management. Later on, he became a Product Developer for power management and IT-solutions. From 2012 to 2018 Patrick Mueller is a Senior Key Expert & Product Manager for SISHIP and SINAVY Automation solutions for Siemens Marine worldwide. Since 2018 Partick Müller responsible as a Business Owner for the Digitalization for Siemens Marine.

Panos Theodossopoulos, Chief Digital Officer at Oceanking, has worked for the past 7 years in the area of digitalization for the maritime sector, in both technical and commercial aspects. With more than 25 years of management experience, he has held several leadership positions in Sales, Business Development, Services and Marketing, in the ICT sector, both in Greece and abroad. He has served as Director of Public Sector Sales and Director of Technology at Microsoft Hellas, where he worked for eight years and, more recently, he was the CEO of Propulsion Analytics for more than 4 years, where he was also the Co-Founder. He holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, Boston, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London.
Lars Greitsch

Dr. Lars Greitsch started his professional career after the A-level with an apprenticeship as a car technician. After that he studied mechanical engineering and naval architecture at the University of Rostock finishing with the degree ‘Diplom Ingenieur’ in 2005. Up to 2009 he worked at the Institute of Ship Design and Ship Safety as a researcher and wrote his dissertation on the topic ‘Development of a design tool for ship rudders based on statistical operational data’. Following his academic career he moved do MMG in the first place as propeller designer, later as Head of Research & Innovation and since the beginning of 2017 as Managing Director. His main topic in his work was the development of the MMG-redesign program, where up to now 320 retrofit propellers were designed and produced based on the evaluation of operational data.

Mr. Poulovassilis joined Lloyd’s Register of Shipping in 1989 and had a distinguished 25-year career with the leading Classification Society, holding the post of Regional Manager, Europe, Middle East & Africa from 2009 until 2015. For the past five years, he has held leading positions for Ship Management and Operating companies and is also currently active in a number of non-executive roles in the Maritime Industry. He holds a BEng and MSc from Imperial College and University College London respectively.

Mark O'Neil is the President and CEO of Columbia Shipmanagement. Previously an English Army Officer and then a maritime lawyer by profession, as a Partner with Stephenson Harwood LLP and Reed Smith LLP for 17 years, Mark headed up international law firm Reed Smith LLP's German Shipping Team, and also co-lead the firm's Offshore Department. His clients included Ship Owners, Charterers, Insurers, Management Companies, Banks, Oil Companies and Offshore Contractors worldwide with a particular focus on the German, Scandinavian, Greek, Dutch, South American and Cypriot markets. He therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the shipping, ship management, banking and offshore sectors. Mark chairs and/or speaks at numerous maritime and banking conferencesand seminars worldwide. He is a passionate advocate of performance optimization, digitalization, crew training and the Human Element within the shipping and ship management industry and regularly speaks on these matters.

Tor Øyvind Ask

Mr. Ask started his deep-sea carrier in 1978, and has 24 years hands on experience in Technical/Maritime vessel operation. He has a M.Sc. in Shipping and Ship Engines and a Ph.D. in Gas Engines from the Norwegian Technical University. His scientific work experience includes working with gas/diesel engine development at Marintek (The Norwegian Maritime Research Institute), where the main customers were: Wartsila, Rolls Royce and Volvo. Since 1998, Mr Ask has been working in various positions heading the Technical, Maritime and New Building Programme in various shipping companies His current position is Fleet Director at Solvang ASA, which has had an on-going newbuilding program since Mr Ask took the position in 2006. Mr Ask has been a driving force for the Solvang’s Eco newbuilding’s. This work resulted in the “Clipper Quito” (84K); was awarded the “Significant Vessel” in 2013 by the Royal Institute of Naval architects’.
Mr Ask is a Board member of; CIMAC Norway since 2013, Member of DNV GL Environmental Committee, DNVGL Nordic Committee for Safety at Sea, active participation in the research program Smart Maritime and NSA Environmental and Climate committee.
