Meet The Presenters

Dr. Daniele Bianchi

Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Finance, Queen Mary, University of London

Daniele is an Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary, University of London. He was previously an Assistant Professor in the Finance Group at Warwick Business School. He joined Warwick in 2014, after being awarded a Ph.D. by the Department of Finance at Bocconi University. He has been a visiting scholar at the McCombs School of Business at UT Austin in Texas, at University “Ca’ Foscari” of Venice in Italy, and at the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon. His research interests span Cryptocurrency Markets, Empirical Asset Pricing, Financial Econometrics, and Machine Learning. He has published several working papers on the empirical analysis of the crypto asset class and has advised on a previous crypto project. Outside of academia, he serves as Research Director of SelfieWealth Robo-Advisor, the first FCA-authorised Robo Advisor.
Johannes Gugl

Partner at Aaro Capital

Johannes supports the team across all areas of the business, and particularly within fund selection and operational due diligence. He has over a decade’s experience in M&A and management consultancy at KPMG and PwC, advising leading companies, financial institutions and professional investors from around the world. Johannes has also founded and invested in a number of businesses, including private equity company Fides Equity Partners and Blocksmatter, an early research, advisory and trading company in the cryptoasset space. Johannes attended an MBA study at Johannes Kepler University Linz and is a Certified Private Equity Advisor (EBS/BAI), awarded by European Business School and the Association of Alternative Investments.
