Jony Watkins
Hi… my name is Jonny Watkins with Talk of the Town Silkscreen & Embroidery located in Akron OH.
I’ve been around the printing & embroidery industry a majority of my life. As long as I can remember that is. Being around the business as a kid I began picking up on things & learning the industry well before I actually knew what I wanted to do with my life. Even though I started working at the shop during my summer breaks at a very young age I still wasn’t aware of my future at the time. Fast forward to my adult hood and here I am. Still within the same industry & the company I learned from & started with. I like to think this company & industry as my calling. I absolutely love it without a doubt. I enjoy being a help to an idea from a customer & making that idea come to life through the process of creating art onto garments by machinery & software.
Overall, I’m not big on “titles” when I’m asked what my role is. I guess coming from a small business background which now makes up 50 employees I play many roles. Its hard telling what a day might throw at me. I’ve learned it’s better to understand and do more than less. It gives me more opportunity. At the end of the day, I like to think I play a major role in the day-to-day operations that take place.
Outside of business & work I love traveling to new destinations & exploring the wilderness. I also have a huge passion for sourcing & reselling vintage 80s & 90s apparel.
