An acclaimed State & Local Tax specialist and thought leader, Chris is well known for his success in identifying multi-million dollar tax-saving opportunities for Fortune 1000 companies and implementing operational changes for long-term business efficiency. With more than 25 years of experience, he carries a wealth of knowledge in SALT and income audit defense and refund claims, VDAs for state & local taxes and unclaimed property, state & local credits and incentives, and tax technology consulting. Chris’s industry specialties include retail, telecommunications, bankruptcy, and turnarounds. He is a frequent lecturer at business and academic forums and an active member of industry trade associations such as AICPA and TEI. Chris holds a B.B.A. and M.B.A. from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business with a concentration in public accounting.

Kevin Corkery
Sr. Tax Associate
Kevin Corkery has worked as a Senior Tax Associate with Source Advisors since January 2024. His regular client duties with Source Advisors include preparing Nexus Studies, preparing Voluntary Disclosure Agreements and Audit Defense. Other work has included assisting with refund claims and assisting with Avalara implementations. In his previous role, Kevin worked for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue – Multistate Audit Bureau for 15 years as a Sales/Use Tax Auditor and later as a Sales/Use Tax Audit Manager. While with the MA DOR, Kevin conducted, and later managed field auditors, in sales/use tax audits of mostly Fortune 500 companies. While Kevin has performed and managed sale/use tax audits of companies in many different industries, he has particular expertise in the audit of telecommunication, medical supply, software and retail energy companies. Kevin was also the Bureau expert in statistical sampling as it applies to sales/use tax audits. Kevin holds a B.B.A in Finance, Cum Laude, from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Kamal has been in the tax industry since 2005 and has assisted many companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies with complex tax matters. Over the past 15 years, Kamal has successfully identified and recovered more than $75M in overpaid indirect taxes for his clients. He has also developed many strong relationships with governmental agencies and auditors throughout the United States and assists taxpayers in various indirect tax areas, including but not limited to sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and excise tax. Kamal works with clients from jurisdictions across the country in reverse tax audits, audit defense and appeal, tax systems automation, negotiation of voluntary compliance agreements, transaction analysis, and compliance services. Kamal holds an M.S. in Accountancy from Farleigh Dickinson University and a B.A. in Labor Studies & Industrial Relations, School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University.
