Part 4: Garnering media as a thought leader in your industry: PR tips and strategies
Texas CEO Magazine and Zilker Media present a four-part summer event series to walk you through thought leadership marketing and how to craft an influential brand as a CEO. Each event will be a 45-minute webinar with award-winning marketing experts, Texas business media experts and CEOs who have built successful thought leadership in their space.
What comes to mind when you hear the term “thought leader” or “influencer marketing”?
Egotistical? Nervous? Overwhelming?
We certainly hear those responses commonly among CEOs who have spent over 10,000 hours perfecting their craft and building their business with little time to spare. To some it feels awkward and maybe even a bit egotistical to think of themselves as a brand. And sure – there are plenty of examples out there of personal brands gone wrong, often falling victim to over-promotitis.
But that initial recoil shouldn’t prevent you from taking yourself – and your brand – seriously, as the quality, visibility and differentiation of your brand will determine many of the opportunities you have in the future in building your thought leadership. Your company could also benefit from involving other influencers’ brands in your marketing strategy as well.
