In 1921, the City of Oldsmar was hit by a damaging hurricane that inundated the City with fourteen feet of water. In recent years, Oldsmar has begun to experience more frequent storm and flooding events and a large portion of the City has been identified to be at moderate or high risk of flooding. Future climate change projections indicate that these events are likely to become more intense and more frequent into the future. Climate related risks may result in impacts to the daily lives of our residents, city services that support our community, and Oldsmar’s businesses. The City Office of Sustainability is developing the Climate Resiliency Plan (CRP) in order to better define these risks and prepare our community for a more resilient future.
