PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: IRS COLLECTIONS - POST PANDEMIC

This webinar will be a review of the significant changes with IRS Collections related to the impact of Covid-19 and discuss how to best work with IRS in this climate.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of IRS collection representation.

Program Level: Intermediate

Learning Objectives:
-Summarize historical collection process.
-Compare changes in long term collection process to what has changed today.
-Discuss timeline for future updates and changes as the IRS increases its capacity.
-Share suggestions on how best to work with the IRS in this new environment.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Vaughan M. Long, EA is the founder of Tax Solutions Alliance, a firm that specializes in IRS Tax Resolution as well as the owner of Ally Tax & Accounting. Vaughan is based in Midlothian, VA where he was mentored by a former IRS Revenue Officer with 49 years of collection experience in IRS collections, including 28 years with the IRS and 21 years in private practice. Vaughan is a member of NAEA and VASEA as well as the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers and most recently a new Board Member of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. He has extensive tax and negotiation experience including 7 years with the Circuit City Stores Corporate Tax, Merchandising and Buying Departments before starting his own tax practice. Vaughan is a 1997 graduate from North Carolina State University.

REFUND POLICY
Refunds will be honored if written notification is received at the Administrative Office within 5 business days of the webinar. A processing fee of $25 will be deducted from the refund. Cancellations within 5 business days of the webinar will not be accepted. Substitutions are allowed if received 48-hours prior to the start of the webinar. "No shows" forfeit their fees.

CANCELLATION
VASEA reserves the right to cancel any program or course for circumstances that are not under direct control of VASEA. If a course or program is cancelled, registrants will be notified via email at the address listed on their registration form.

Patrick Knightly is an enrolled agent in the Richmond, VA area with over twenty years of experience in the accounting and tax fields. Throughout his career, he has worked in the Public, Private, and Non-Profit sectors, and managed a franchise tax office, serving in positions ranging from Accounting Consultant to Chief Financial Officer. He has also made it a point to be involved in service to his community and has served on several local, state and national boards. Currently he is a Senior Accountant at My Tax Pilot in Henrico County, where he spends most of his time working on tax returns for small businesses, small business owners, estates, and trusts, and on accounting projects. In his spare time, he chairs two local government boards, serves as Treasurer of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents, Treasurer of The Chesterfield Partnership for Successful Living, and is the Vice Chair for Volunteers of the Dominion Richmond Christmas Parade. He is a Life Member of the Virginia Jaycees, and a Life Member of the Capital District Kiwanis, and is a volunteer reader for Virginia Voice. He studied accounting and finance at Virginia Tech, and also participated in the Sorensen Institute’s Political Leadership Program at the University of Virginia. He lives in Midlothian, Virginia.
