This lecture will focus on methods of decontamination, one of the most important first steps to consider in the treatment of toxicity. Indications and methods for oral, ocular, and dermal decontamination will be discussed with varying species considered. Contraindications and complications with common decontamination methods will be covered. Additionally, less common forms of decontamination, such as intralipid therapy and extracorporeal elimination, will be touched on.
