From earthquakes and cyclones to sickness and hardship, Greg and Mary Pearson have experienced storms during their 36 years serving in Bible translation among the Lote people of Papua New Guinea.

But they’ve also experienced the God who calms the storms, and they’ve seen him do incredible things. One of the most encouraging events was the dedication of the Lote New Testament when one man shouted in excitement, “This is Jesus coming to earth to walk among us”

Greg and Mary Pearson first went to Papua New Guinea in 1986 where they worked with the Lote community doing Bible translation and literacy development in a remote tropical island setting. After 24 years it was thrilling to see the Lote New Testaments placed into their hands on January 9-10, 2010. They raised two sons in Papua New Guinea, who graduated from Ukarumpa International School - a life experience they both cherish. Greg and Mary continue their commitment to bring God's Word to those who still wait, working remotely from Minnesota. As a Bible translation consultant Greg walks teams through the final check to ensure the quality of translated Scriptures and is currently working with a language from Eritrea. Mary is an anthropology consultant serving remotely for Papua New Guinea.
