The newly enacted “United States Canada Mexico Trade Agreement” (“USMCA”) includes substantial improvements from its predecessor NAFTA, some of which simply did not exist in the previous tri-lateral trade agreement.
One of these new innovations is Chapter 25 of the USMCA. This Chapter established a standing committee comprised of trade representatives of the three nations, in order to open up and maintain direct lines of ongoing communication with “Small-to-Medium-sized Enterprises” doing business under the USMCA (“SMEs”). As stated in Chapter 25 General Principles, the objective of the SME Committee is to foster close cooperation between the SMEs and promote jobs and growth.
Businesses conducting international trade under the USMCA should understand how they may directly benefit from the utilization of establishing an ongoing avenue of communication and working with the SME Committee on a regular basis.
This webinar will focus on:
• The unique opportunities in taking advantage of the previously non-existent lines of communication directly with USMCA trade representatives through the SME Committee;
• How the established line of communication with the SME Committee may be utilized to benefit your business;
• The steps to create successful lines of communication with the SME Committee and what issues/questions/concerns may be directly addressed to the Committee.
