The Art of Gathering: Re-Imagining Sangat

Jasleen Kaur is a double UVA grad in Religious Studies, focusing on South Asian Religions through the lens of literature and poetry. She is currently working as a Researcher with SikhRI. She is passionate about projects that create comfortable spaces for community members of all ages and backgrounds to engage in dialogue and learn from one another. She also loves singing in her free time, whether on stage with her friends or alone in her kitchen. She hopes to eventually go back to school in pursuit of a Ph.D. in either religious ethnography or history, and fulfill her dream of teaching and learning from others.

Shuranjeet Singh is the founder and director of Tarakī, a movement working with Punjabi communities to reshape approaches to mental health. Shuranjeet is currently pursuing a Masters in Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. His interests lie at the intersection of healthcare, society, and social inequalities. Shuranjeet likes to explore the role of Sikhi and Sikhs often erased in mainstream historical narratives.

Vineet Kaur loves to explore how individual systems interact to form global patterns which inspire her to adapt her understanding of cognitive sciences to explore spiritual elements of faith and wonder. Vineet engages with Sikhi through personal introspection, research, leadership programs, and community initiatives to create spaces for conversations around resilience and Oneness .

SikhRI connects people with the teachings of Sikhi and strengthens the bonds of the Sikh community around the world by offering courses and seminars in a variety of mediums.
