PSHE education leads and teachers do so much to support children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, while at the same time coming under huge pressures themselves. Covid-19 has exacerbated the issue – with schools having to implement new measures at short notice and teach a mixture of remote learning and face-to-face.
This session will focus on supporting teachers’ own mental health and wellbeing; the challenges of covering difficult PSHE education issues (that teachers may be dealing with themselves); and how teachers and pupils can get back on their feet post-Covid closures.
Our Deputy CEO & Principal Subject Specialist Jenny Barksfield is joined by Sinéad Mc Brearty from Education Support and Christy Reynolds, Schools Outreach Therapist at the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families.
