About
Amidst increasingly fierce competition for engineering skills, apprenticeships are key to growing and developing the UK’s pipeline of engineering talent. But with engineering and manufacturing achievement rates in England (particularly amongst SMEs) falling well short of government targets there is clearly work to do.

Timed to coincide with the launch of the Unlocking the value of apprenticeships for engineering and manufacturing SMEs report (a major research project conducted by Enginuity and The Engineer) this webinar will bring together key voices from across the UK engineering and manufacturing landscape. It will discuss the findings of this important report, explore the challenges faced by SMEs in completing apprenticeships in England, and identify some of the practical solutions and measures that organisations and third parties can take to reverse this trend.

Key discussion areas

• Findings and recommendations from the apprenticeship achievements Report
• Employer actions – practical steps to a successful apprenticeship scheme
• Third party interventions – how policymakers, education and training providers can help
