    Being able to rapidly vet and scale commercial unmanned aerial system (UAS) technology for military applications is a critical goal of the U.S. Department of Defense. The Blue sUAS 2.0 project for the Defense Innovation Unit is an example of such an approach. This program consists of 5 lines of effort that curate, maintain, and improve a robust roster of policy approved commercial UAS which suit the diverse needs of DoD users.

    Integrating commercial technology into UAS solutions also requires an understanding of legal risk and regulation knowledge especially when such platforms are used in commercial airspace.
