Tina Sloan Green was Temple University’s head coach from 1975 – 1992 and collected 207 career victories in 18 seasons. She was the first African-American head coach in the history of intercollegiate women’s lacrosse, and led her team to three national championships, claiming the AIAW title in 1982 and the NCAA crown in 1984 and 1988. Sloan Green was named the National Coach of the Year in 1988. She is the founder of the Black Women in Sport Foundation and was inducted into the IWLCA Hall of Fame in 2017. She played collegiately at West Chester University and was a member of the US Women’s National Team program from 1969-1971.

Alison Williams Bruno, a member of Temple’s 1984 national championship lacrosse team, has been the head coach at Towson, Georgetown, and Villanova, and is currently the volunteer assistant at Howard University. She is also a coach for the Iroquois Nationals (Haudenosaunee) World Cup team, is a member of Harlem Lacrosse’s Philadelphia Advisory Board, and still works closely with Tina Sloan Green and The Black Women in Sport Foundation.

Jessy Morgan was the head coach at George Mason University from 2014-2020, and currently serves as the Athletic Director at Garrison Forest School. She has also served as Head Lacrosse Coach at Howard University and Assistant Coach at the University of Virginia. As a student-athlete, Morgan was named an All-American and won the 2004 NCAA championship as a player at Virginia. Morgan is the co-chair of the IWLCA’s Racial Equity Task Force.

Zhanè Ruffin is the head coach at the University of the District of Columbia. She was an all-conference player at Methodist University, where she earned her BS in Sport Management in 2016. Ruffin received a master’s degree in Sport Industry Management from Georgetown University. Ruffin is on the staff of WINNERS Lacrosse, a nonprofit organization that serves children from underserved neighborhoods in Washington, DC. She is also a member of the IWLCA’s Racial Equity Task Force.

Kayla Wood is a 2021 graduate of the University of North Carolina, where she was a three-time ACC Champion, and three-time NCAA Semi-finalist. She current competes as a professional for Athletes Unlimited and was recently named a member of the 2022 U.S. Women’s Training Team that is preparing for the Women’s World Championship that will be held in Baltimore this summer.
