This presentation will focus on Energy Credits available to taxpayers, how to use them, when to use them, and what some taxpayers have misheard about them so far. The presentation will include discussion of the current state and availability of Energy Credits, including residential credits, electric vehicle credits, solar credits, etc.
Learning Objectives:
- Know the credits available to encourage energy saving improvements/purchases
- Know the limits on credit amounts, both current and lifetime
- Know what types of items qualify for the Energy Credits and how to find out if your
client’s purchase qualifies (including Electric Vehicles)
- Know the impact of adding qualified energy improvements during initial construction vs.
post construction
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of federal taxation in the U.S. to include the tax impact of refundable and non-refundable credits

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Patrick Knightly, EA is a tax professional with over twenty years of tax and accounting experience. He has extensive experience in private and public sector accounting, and has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of a non-profit charity. Patrick is currently a Senior Accountant at My Tax Pilot in Henrico County, where he spends most of his time working on tax returns for small businesses, small business owners, estates, and trusts, and on accounting projects. Patrick lives in Richmond, VA, has a dog named Jojo, and is a die-hard Hokie fan.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds will be honored if written notification is received at the Administrative Office within 5 business days of the webinar. A processing fee of $25 will be deducted from the refund. Cancellations within 5 business days of the webinar will not be accepted. Substitutions are allowed if received 48-hours prior to the start of the webinar. "No shows" forfeit their fees.
CANCELLATION
VASEA reserves the right to cancel any program or course for circumstances that are not under direct control of VASEA. If a course or program is cancelled, registrants will be notified via email at the address listed on their registration form.
