Paul Flannery
Executive Director - IYBA
Paul has been involved in the marine industry for almost his entire life, having started as a dock boy and working his way up to the position of captain on custom sportfishing boats in the tournament circuit. He holds a 500 ton U.S.C.G. Masters license, has traveled many of the oceans of the world and is also a licensed private pilot.
In 1992, Paul began working as a full time yacht broker and enjoyed a successful career with his own brokerage company as well as with a few other great names in the industry. In early 2018, Paul was approached by the Executive Committee of IYBA and asked to assume the role of Executive Director on a full-time basis, where he currently directs the day to day operations of the association. His current duties involve the coordination of seminars, networking events, legislative affairs and working with the Board of Directors to shepherd the growth of the organization. When asked what he enjoys most regarding his career, he says that he genuinely enjoys the opportunity to continue to "give back" to the industry which has given him so much.
Bert Fowles
VP of Sales & Marketing - IGY Marinas
With more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience, Bert Fowles joined the IGY Marinas team in 2007 as Vice President of Marketing & Sales. Fowles is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans leading to revenue growth for numerous international marinas, as well as providing direction and support to IGY’s third-party clients in respect to marketing and sales.
Prior to joining IGY Marinas, Fowles served as operations manager for Prime Sports Ltd., one of the Caribbean’s leading casino gaming companies. He has also held several key marketing management positions in the hospitality and resort industry, including a number of years with SuperClubs Resorts where he serviced brands such as Hedonism, Grand Lido and Breezes.
Fowles serves on several boards, including the United States Superyacht Association and Marine Industries Association of South Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida, where he majored in Business Administration.
