James Hitchmough

James Hitchmough is an Emeritus Professor of Horticultural Ecology at the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Sheffield. He is well-known for his naturalistic, seed-sown plantings and projects such as London’s Olympic Park, the Horniman Museum Grasslands Garden and Knepp Walled Garden. He has created gardens around the world, applying his principles and practices of ecology to create sustainable and long-term plantings. He is also author of seven books, including Sowing Beauty.
