CA State minimum wage effective January 1, 2016…$10.00, unless you have employees in such cities as Berkeley, Santa Monica, Oakland, Palo Alto and more…oh, and don’t forget the July 1, 2016 increase for LA County and the countless sets of bills to increase state and city minimum wages to $15.00 per hour (all with different timelines). Confused yet?
If you have employees in California, this one is for you…California and many cities and counties throughout the state have varying requirements when it comes to the minimum wage you can pay employees. To top it off, many have released schedules to increase their minimums to $15.00, sometimes even in the same vicinity. This leads to serious confusion, headaches, and if not handled correctly…costly litigation.
